Mark Ruffalo is a traitor and a member of the rebel alliance!

I am of the mind that Mark Ruffalo is the next Gary Oldman, his skill as an actor combined with some excellent makeup / styling has allowed him to convincingly play a variety of roles without me realising they were same guy until I later checked on the internet. But hes been playing one role I don't think anyone suspected apart from the brave men and women of the Pennsylvania Homeland Security office. For Mark Ruffalo is a terrorist.

Oh whats that you've read the article and all he did was show people a documentary critical of dangerous drilling practices, his only crime threatening corporate interests? Well comrade I'm just glad more perceptive people than you work in homeland security and were able to understand his true motives. Oil and Gas companies pay millions of dollars in taxes and create huge numbers of jobs, Mr Ruffalo's attempts to attack them were an attempt to weaken the American economy and deprive the American government of funds.

He must be stopped by whatever means necessary or maybe energy companies wont be able to maintain America's healthy democracy due to a lack of money to donate to campaigns.

Something to bear in mind re: Iran.

One rather suspicious thing about the most recent Wikileaks leak is how much it is getting America's favoured message that Iran will imminently have nuclear weapons (or indeed that there is any evidence they are developing nukes at all.)

An international panel of experts recently stated Iran WILL NOT have nuclear weapons in the near future.

Heroes only do profitable things.

To display conspicuous bravery while ending the life of others will get you medals, acclaim and perhaps even a promotion and higher pay. However to risk your life for the good of others or the environment is to open yourself to condemnation. Sure in a few decades you might get retrospective praise, editorials that devote a paragraph to praise and the rest of it how the author "got it".

So we come to an event even the considerably left leaning guardian can't really bring itself to praise. Greenland is probably sitting on a lot of oil and gas albeit it a long way under the ocean, so to get at it oil companies will need to use deep drilling. Greenland's water is much colder (so the oil will take much longer to disperse) and the area of proposed drilling is far more remote thus making recovery operations much slower.

So Greenpeace stepped up to the plate. Sure most of us don't want the precious eco-systems of the Arctic region destroyed but... ya know freecell isn't going to play itself. Facing off against Greenland police boats and the Danish navy four activists somehow managed to evade these patrols and then somehow mountaineer themselves onto a drilling platform scouting out this alleged oil. I mean thats some James Bond shit, zipping about on rubber dingies and then through mad physical exertion boarding the bad guy's floating base. No one killed, no one harmed and all for an admiral ideological goal that doesn't benefit the activists in any material way.

So how does the Guardian decide to headline it?

Huffington Post suggests Gulf Oil catastrophe could become a Methane Catastrophe too!

Methane is definitely leaking from the Deep Water Horizon spill in large enough quantities to create dead zones where oxygen breathing creatures can't live. This ya know would be very in itself but thanks to pollution other dead zones off the US south coast already exist so ya know its bad but our corporate rulers would likely to be able to get away with it.

Nah what the Methane could do is cause a huge poisonous tsunami that would strike most of the south coast. Oh yeah then it could cause a large amount of the sea to turn into steam which then might cause a large section of sea floor to rise and lower which would then create further Tsunamis from the massive amount of energy such a raising and lowering would cause. Happy fun times.

The article says this is still an unlikely scenario but as time goes on it becomes more worthy of consideration. If you've got relatives who live on or near the south coast it might be wise to advise them to get their affairs in order.

Virgin Mary gives Bobby Jindal divine plan to exploit Gulf Oil Catastrophe.

It is hard to find a more stinging criticism of someone than to say a person converted to conservative Catholicism as an adult but that is exactly what Bobby Jindal did. Is this relevant to his exploiting of the Gulf Spill? Possibly not but its worth highlighting how much of an idiot he is without excuse of his views being ingrained from his upbringing.

So anyway turns out Jindal's grandstanding and self aggrandisement is not only hollow posturing to gain national attention but also likely to make the impact of the oil on Louisiana worse than it otherwise could've been. But of all the mistakes hes made and misdirections hes using to heap more blame on Obama that is logical his greatest sin is probably:

He cut $750,000 from the budget of the oil spill research and development program and moved the Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator's office from the governor's direct oversight into "a basement in Facility Planning" at the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.

In a country with a functioning media (that is to say a mythical one) hypocrisy like that might bite him in the ass.

Judge completely in Big Oil's pocket

Yesterday I mentioned the pro-BP legal decision made by a New Orleans judge. I mentioned it as another example of corporations running the world and hey turns out that judge, Martin Feldmen, is heavily invested a variety of oil companies. Something of a mild conflict of interests.

Enviromental Protestors are pretty cool.

For obvious reasons environmental campaigners don't get much publicity but the innovative methods of opposition to one of the key ways big companies make themselves out to be the good guys need to be acknowledged. In a separate development, musicians including Lady Gaga, Korn, Disturbed, Godsmack, Creed, and the Backstreet Boys said they planned to boycott BP on their national tours this year.

Now I was going to mock the Backstreet boys et al boycotting BP and to be fair its probably just a stab at populism but still on a matter like this its all too easy to let snobbery and elitism cloud a good development. Artists should be encouraged if they're doing something good regardless of the reason or who they are. Save your disdain for artists that aren't doing anything at all, its what I'm trying to do.

Oil companies have gotten the drilling ban overturned lord knows an ecological catastrophe isn't nearly enough to justify some old white guys making huge profits.
